AC Milan consultant Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken out on the club’s recent rumours of a move for Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, who is also Swedish.
The Red Devils centre-back’s contract with the team is set to expire at the end of this season, amid uncertainty over his future following the team’s managerial change to Ruben Amorim.
Lindelof has previously been link with a move to Italy and was report to have been link with a move to Lazio over the summer, with the Red Devils keeping a close eye on the situation.
However, Ibrahimovic did not confirm or deny the news. But said that the news was because Lindelof is Swedish like himself.
“You never know, there are a lot of rumours,” Ibrahimovic told TV4. “The rumours are because I’m Swedish and Lindelof is Swedish.”
“He’s a great player. l think he’s done really well at United. But we’ve got some good players in that position. I don’t know what UFABET he wants, you should ask him.”
“I think you have to ask him. If we are there? You never know. We want a lot. And we’re working for it.”
Lindelof will be free to agree a pre-contract agreement from January unless the Old Trafford side can move him on for a small fee in the winter itself.
He was brought to the club by Jose Mourinho back in 2017 and has had a mix career in Manchester. It is clear that he is no longer the answer and needs to go somewhere else to prolong his club career.
